Lamb – Single Protein, Easy-Serve Raw Mince from Dougie’s

Dougie’s Lamb is a 100% single protein raw mince, made to the standard 80:10:10 ratio of meat, bone, and offal. Lamb is naturally rich and nutrient-dense, making it a great option for pets that need extra energy or variety in their diet. The fine mince texture is easy to digest and suitable for dogs, cats, and ferrets.

Each 560g sleeve contains four convenient 140g cubes, which makes portioning easy and thawing quick – especially useful for smaller pets or feeding smaller amounts throughout the day.

Lamb provides important nutrients like iron, zinc, and B vitamins, which help support energy, coat health, and immune function. It’s a slightly fattier protein than others like chicken or rabbit, making it a good choice for pets that need a bit more fuel.

Like all of Dougie’s minces, it’s just the essentials – 100% lamb, bone, and offal, with no added extras.

Key points:

  • 80:10:10 ratio (meat, bone, offal)

  • 100% lamb – rich, single protein mince

  • Finely minced for easy digestion

  • 560g sleeve with 4 x 140g cubes – easy to portion and thaw

  • Suitable for dogs, cats, and ferrets

Composition: 80% Lamb Meat, 10% Lamb Bone, 10% Lamb Offal

Analytical Constituents:

Moisture: 63.9%

Crude Protein: 16.8%

Fat: 14.4%

Ash: 4.4%

Crude Fibre: 0.5%

80:10:10 is a raw feeding ratio made up of:

  • 80% meat
  • 10% bone
  • 10% offal (5% liver, 5% other organs)

These meals are balanced and biologically appropriate — they get you 99% of the way to a complete diet.

🛠️ Just a Few Simple Tweaks Make It Complete:

✅ Rotate proteins properly – different meats offer different nutrients

✅ Cats & ferrets need taurine – found naturally in meat, especially red meats and heart - Add heart regularly, or just use a taurine supplement (easy and effective)

✅ Dogs benefit from extra nutrients – optional superfoods like our Shanzi Superfood Blend provide:

  • Zinc
  • Iodine (from kelp)
  • Vitamin E
  • Plus fiber, omega-3s & antioxidants from seeds and greens

For dogs, you can also add extras at home – like veg, fruit, and leafy greens (e.g. broccoli, spinach, kale, blueberries, pumpkin)

BARF Complete supplement (for both dogs, cats & ferrets) is another great way to top up essential vitamins and minerals — easy to add and designed to fill nutritional gaps in raw diets

Not sure what your pet needs? You can always reach out to us for tailored advice — we’re here to help you feed naturally, confidently, and with ease.

Rotating proteins is one of the easiest and most powerful ways to keep your pet’s raw diet balanced and biologically supportive. Different meats offer different nutrients — some are higher in taurine, others in zinc, iron, B vitamins, or omega-3s. By feeding a variety, you naturally help cover all nutritional bases over time.

Feeding just one or two proteins long-term can lead to nutritional gaps and even food intolerances. A well-rotated diet supports:

  • More complete nutrition
  • Better gut health and microbiome diversity
  • Less boredom or fussiness with food
  • Lower risk of developing sensitivities

We personally feed as many different proteins as we can — and we recommend feeding at least 4 to 5 different proteins regularly. Try to include a good mix of red meats, poultry, and oily fish (like sardines or salmon a couple of times a week). Exotic proteins such as goat, pheasant, rabbit, or quail are also excellent additions when available.

Rotate as often as possible — ideally, every time you defrost a new meal, choose a different protein. You don’t have to stick to one brand either. If your regular brand only offers a few options, it’s totally fine to mix and match. To make this even easier, we offer a variety of pre-packed mixed boxes that include a selection of different proteins for simple, stress-free rotation.

If your pet has allergies and can only tolerate one or two proteins, that’s okay too — but it’s essential to add the right supplements to support long-term balance.

Not sure where to start or how to rotate safely? We’re always here to help with honest, tailored advice.

My dog loves it! Only downside is that it always seems to be sold out and it comes wrapped in plastic. It’s great that it is divided into cubes already and is a single protein.

I now have 2 pups who both eat this but find the blocks are so easy to defrost and just enough for the morning feed and then evening feed. Good flavour too, always have an empty bowl

My dog loves this meat, the portions make it easy to serve and control the amount he eats.
Also bone is small.

My dog had been on raw but totally refused to eat it for about a month, came across this company and gave it a go, the small blocks were perfect for starting over again and he has taken to the new food.
Easy to store and defrost.
Lovely customer service and it’s nice to shop local.
Thank you
